A Monroe County motorcyclist was killed and the driver of a car he rear-ended was seriously injured in a crash that occurred on Saturday, Sept. 7, in Hamilton Township.

State police said Anthony Valusek, 46, of Lake Harmony, was traveling northbound on Hamilton South about 6:49 p.m. when he attempted a left turn into the Hamilton Restaurant. Kenneth Mackes, 27, of Effort, was traveling behind Valusek operating a motorcycle, when he rear-ended Valusek's vehicle.After impact Valusek's vehicle hit two mailboxes on the west side of the road. Mackes was pronounced dead at the scene.Valusek was flown by PennStar helicopter to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, and admitted in critical condition.
