Carbon woman facing charges

A Carbon County woman is facing charges following an incident in her hometown.

Kimberly L. Harvan, 53, of 359 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, was charged by borough police officer Dane O'Brien with persistent disorderly conduct (a misdemeanor three), and a summary count of disorderly conduct.The charges stem from a Aug. 29 incident that occurred about 5:24 p.m. Jim Thorpe police were dispatched to a report of a disabled car along SR209. Upon arrival Jim Thorpe determined the vehicle was in Nesquehoning but in a very hazardous location.The driver was identified as Stephanie Sanders-Millard, who stated she ran out of fuel and her friend, Harvan, had gone for gas.Harvan arrived with the gas and it was put into the gas tank. Millard was unable to start the car due to a dead battery. At that point O'Brien called for a tow truck to remove the vehicle due to the hazardous location.At this point Harvan began to yell at the officer. After several requests by police to cease her actions, Harvan continued and was then placed under arrest.
