Car, truck collide in Schuylkill

One driver was slightly injured in a collision of a car and truck in Schuylkill County. State police at Frackville said the accident occurred about 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, along SR61 in Blythe Township.

Troopers said Nancy L. Harris, 66, of Ashland, was driving a 2009 Ford Focus northbound when she made an abrupt lane change to avoid contact with the rear of a 2004 Mack Vison truck operated by Derrick J. Harris, 42, of Allentown. The truck was traveling at a lesser speed due to the vehicle's weight and had its four-way flashers on at the time.While Nancy Harris attempted to pass the truck she over compensated and subsequently her vehicle struck the driver's side of the truck. After impact the Focus overturned one time and landed on its wheels in both lanes of travel.Nancy Harris was injured and taken to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Derrick Harris was not injured. The investigation into the accident is continuing, troopers noted.
