Series of run/walks scheduled by St. Luke's Health Network

St. Luke's University Health Network is sponsoring a series of runs/walks this Fall in an effort to "build a healthier community - one mile at a time."

The series of runs/walks and fitness events will be held in September and October. Each event will have a specific purpose, from honoring trauma patients to raising funds for men's cancer and local children's programs to increasing fitness and improving health in the community. The mileage of the runs/walks will count toward the "Get Your Tail on the Trail Program and the 1645 Mile Challenge (www.tailon the trail.org).St. Luke's will honor trauma patients, heroes and caregivers with its 8th Annual Run With the Heroes 5K Run/Walk on Sept. 14. The event will be held at 100 Gracedale Ave., Nazareth. Check ins will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the run/walk set to begin at 8:30 a.m. It will be held rain or shine. To register, go to

www.sluhn.org/traumaheroes.St. Luke's Blue Ribbon 5K Race and Family Fun Walk will be held Sept. 28 and will follow the trail in the garden at St. Luke's Hospital - Anderson Campus, 1872 Riverside Circle in Easton. Sign in begins at 7:30 a.m. with the race set for 8:30 a.m. The Family Fun Walk will begin at the completion of the race. The registration fee will provide for awards for the top three male and female runners and a tee shirt. Register at www.sluhn/blueribbob5k. Deadline to register is Sept. 4.The St. Luke's Miners Campus Cares For Kids 5K and Kids Fun Run/Walk is scheduled to be held Sept. 14, rain or shine. Any proceeds will benefit St. Luke's Miners Community Health Programs, which includes the HealthStar vans, literacy programs, smoking cessation programs and more.
