Arson is crime of the week

State Police at Hazleton, Troop N Fire Marshal's Unit, is seeking the public's assistance in solving an arson investigation.

Police are offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest in an arson that took place at 2:09 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at a vacant home at 4145 Falcon Terrace, Pocono Country Place, Coolbaugh Township.The home is owned by Beata Rogowski.When police and fire personnel arrived, they observed that the second floor of the home was well involved. Fire personnel extinguished the fire. There was severe fire damage to the second floor and roof of the structure of the home. Several neighbors reported hearing a loud explosion immediately before the fire was discovered.Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department and Troop N Fire Marshal's Unit investigated the origin and cause of the fire and it was determined that the fire was intentionally set.Anyone with information is asked to call Monroe County Crime Stoppers at 1-866-370-1518. Callers could be eligible for cash rewards and callers may remain anonymous.
