Two men who were found guilty by juries of criminal charges were sentenced in Schuykill County court.

Keith Allen Reber, 49, of Schuylkill Haven, who was found guilty of 11 criminal charges brought against him for tying a man to a tree who was later found dead. Reber was sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller to serve a total of 14 to 28 years in a state correctional in institution.The sentence was broken down he receives sentences as follows:Involuntary manslaughter, 30 to 60 months and make restitution of $10,265 to Dorell Korell, mother of the victim, Bryan R. Smith; kidnapping to inflict injuries or terrorize, 72 to 144 months; criminal conspiracy to commit involuntary manslaughter, 60 to 120 months; criminal conspiracy to kidnap or inflict injury or terror, criminal conspiracy to recklessly endanger another person, and recklessly endangering another person, merged for sentencing and tamper or fabricate evidence, six to 12 months.The incident occurred on May 28, 2012, when Reber suspected Smith stole property from his girlfriend and decided to take the law in his own hands and mete out punishment.He drove Smith to a wooded section in South Manheim Township and tied him to a tree as punishment for his crime and left him for almost 24 hours. Smith was found dead while still tied to the tree. The defense was he did not intend to kill.Carlton Vivien Jarmon, Phoenixville, formerly of Shenandoah, who last June was found guilty of terroristic threats made to his Shenandoah landlord who accosted him for back rent, was sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin to serve five years on probation and must enroll and complete anger management course.Testimony at his trial was he grabbed Robert Yarmin by the throat, who sought back rent for the apartment at 412 W. Penn St.On a charge of harassment he was fined $100. He also was ordered to pay $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account and a $50 monthly supervision fee while on probation.
