Hazleton driver facing DUI count

Christopher Borneisen, of 711 N. Broad St., Hazleton, has been charged by McAdoo police following a traffic stop in the borough on July 16.

Borneisen allegedly failed to use a turn signal as he was operating a Chevrolet Cobalt turning from Hancock onto Blaine Street.A police officer observed the incident, which took place at 1:50 a.m., and instituted a vehicle stop. Borneisen had an odor of alcohol about his person and his eyes appeared to be glassie, according to the officer's report.Charges of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol were filed after the driver failed several field sobriety tests.
