Nine area residents are among 29 placedin Schuylkill County probation program

Nine area residents were among 29 who qualified to be placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) probation program.

The program is reserved for first-time offenders to give them a chance to clear their criminal record by carrying out the conditions imposed.Schuylkill County Senior Judge D. Michael Stine admitted the following to the program. All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.David Robert Chapman, 37, of Route 209, Lansford, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, assessed $500 to defray cost of the program, pay $300 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), $50 to Catastrophe fund, attend alcohol highway safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 60 days.
