Schuylkill County businesses cited

Several Schuylkill County businesses have been cited by the Allentown enforcement office of the state Liquor Control Board for liquor code violations.

La Casita De Familia, LLC, 8 E. Centre St., Shenandoah, was cited for used, or permitted to be used on the inside of the licensed premises, a loudspeaker or similar device whereby the sound of music or other entertainment, or the advertisement thereof, could be heard beyond the property line. The offense occurred on Feb. 22.The Downtowne Tavern Inc., trading as, Downtowne Tavern, 24 W. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, was cited for sold, furnished and/or gave or permitted such sale, furnishing or giving of alcoholic beverages to one visibly intoxicated patron. The offense occurred on May 19.Bellisima Luna Italian Bistro Inc., 380 Center Ave., Schuylkill Haven, was cited for sold, furnished and/or gave or permitted such sale, furnishing or giving of alcoholic beverages to one minor, 18 years of age. The offense occurred on March 28.Citizens Fire Company, 10 Firehouse Road, Ringtown, East Union Township, was cited for failure to adhere to bylaws. The offense date listed was March 19.Ex-Service Men's Club of Valley View Inc., aka, Valley View American Legion, Hegins Township, was cited for failure to adhere to bylaws, and offered and/or gave liquor and/or malt or brewed beverages as a prize. The offenses occurred on various dates.These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge.
