Free veterans support group to begin

Do you know or have a loved one who suffers from the psychological scars of war or combat stress?

Do you have trouble sleeping?Have you had difficulties transitioning from the military into civilian life?There is help.The Veterans Support Group VALOR invites any veteran to a free group therapy program on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at the Gilbert American Legion Post 927, downstairs, at 7 p.m. It will meet monthly, the third Tuesday of every month. The Legion is located on Route 209/Fairgrounds Road, Gilbert.The program is a confidential guided discussion and personal discovery experience moderated by trained facilitators from the cutting edge, Veterans Unstoppable Program.They will deal with anger management, stress triggers and personal life skills.All veterans, men and women, are welcome.VALOR's mission is to improve the lives of our nation's veterans by providing free access to coaching and care that will address service-connected conditions and improve life skill for work and life outside of service.VALOR needs the support of community partners who can donate money, skills and materials to make these services accessible to veterans at no charge.If you are interested or need more information, contact Glen Lippincott (a combat wounded Vietnam vet) at (570) 242-0810 or (570) 992-6038, email
