Glen Charles Fisher, 42, of Scranton, is facing charges of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and resisting arrest after Pocono Mountain Regional police were summoned to investigate a one-vehicle crash at 3:53 a.m. Aug. 10.

The accident happened along Coolbaugh Road in Gouldsboro, Monroe County.When police arrived responders from the Gouldsboro EMS were already on scene. They advised police Fisher was driving the vehicle and although he was not injured, he was intoxicated.As officers approached the man he retreated to the opposite side of the road and produced a utility razor knife from his rear pocket. Police said he began cutting his wrist until officers utilized an electronic incapacitation device to disable the man and keep him from harming himself further.Police said he was taken into custody, treated by the Gouldsboro EMS, and transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment of the cut wound and a legal blood draw to determine his blood-alcohol level. He was then committed for a mental health evaluation due to his actions.
