No. Lehigh door project costs more than expected

It will cost Northern Lehigh School District nearly $14,000 more to complete its middle school door replacement project than originally anticipated.

By an 8-0 measure, with Director Natalie Green absent, the school board on Monday agreed to authorize administration to enter into a contract with Weiss Construction, of Easton, at a cost of $71,038, to be paid from the capital projects account.That amount is $13,718 more than the not to exceed amount of $57,320 that the board in May authorized administration to enter into contracts with the successful bidder for the project.In other business, the board approved the following cocurricular appointments for the 2013-14 school year:- Susan Bachman, elementary scholastic scrimmage, $448- Christopher Barnes, middle school newspaper adviser, $469- Susan Bowser, middle school Junior National Honor Society adviser (shared $426.72), $142.24- David Carroll, senior high band adviser, $4,854;
