A Schuylkill County man has been charged with stealing electrical service from his provider.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Troy Schneck, 47, of 399 Rock Rd., in Pine Grove, Washington Township, has been charged with theft of services.Troopers allege that Schneck stole electrical service from PPL during the time frame of Sept. 25, 2012, to Aug. 7 at his residence. Troopers said he tampered with the electric meter outside his home which prevented PPL from being able to properly read his electric usage.PPL estimated that Schneck stole 3,402 kilowatt hours (KWH) of service.
