The Citizens Fire Company No. 2 and Mahanoy City EMS has announced the Grand Marshal for the 59th Annual Schuylkill County Firefighters Convention Parade and the 150th Anniversary of Mahanoy City.

He is United States Ambassador David Huebner.The parade willl be held at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 24.A native of Mahanoy City, Ambassador David Huebner currently serves as the American Ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa.He is the son of Elizabeth and the late David Huebner (Sr.) of East Pine Street.Prior to being appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate to his current position, he practiced international disputes law from Los Angeles and an office he established in Shanghai, China.He is a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School, Princeton University (summa cum laude), and Yale Law School.Over the course of his career to-date he practiced law in the U.S. and abroad, served as chairman & ceo of a large international law firm, taught international law and policy at the University of Southern California, lectured on international law and business topics at universities in China, chaired the California Law Revision Commission, served as president of the Los Angeles Quality & Productivity Commission, was elected a Fellow of the London-based Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, represented the U.S. on the Paris-based ICC Commission on Arbitration, and served on the boards of several NGOs.
