Break-in, mischief incidents probed

State police at Lehighton are investigating a burglary and criminal mischief incidents.

The break-in occurred at the home of Bozema Cholewa, 59, of 202 Lower Valley Drive, in Kunkletown, Polk Township, Monroe County. Entry was gained by kicking in the front door. Once inside the criminals rummaged through various area. They then fled with an unknown amount of opened liquor bottles. The incident occurred sometime between Aug. 6 and Monday, Aug. 12.Troopers are probing an incident at the residence of Rich Williams, 53, of 4121 Mountain Top Rd., in Saylorsburg, Monroe County. Unknown persons removed the lock on the home and replaced it with a different lock, which denied Williams access to the property. The incident occurred sometime between July 27 and Aug. 7.Troopers said someone removed portions of the root material at 116 Farm Hill Rd., in Kunkletown, Eldred Township, Monroe County, sometime between 1 and 3 p.m. on Aug. 7. The property is owned by Owens Mortgage Servicing Co.Someone scratched the vehicles of Richard Weichand, 45, of Saylorsburg, and Joanne Kemp, 63, of Toms River, N.J., while they were parked at 520 Pheasant Rd., in Ross Township, Monroe County. The incident occurred sometime between noon and 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 10.Dale Alan George, 8695 Robin Hood Drive, Kunkletown, reported someone cut the wiring for an alarm system at his residence. The incident occurred sometime between July 19 and Aug. 9.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
