It took only 19 minutes, and the crowd gathering to watch wasn't the largest ever to attend an auction. But when the Angela Theater, 13 East Phillips Street, Coaldale, went up for grabs, the sale was more than welcomed by the residents of the town.

Two New Jersey brothers who are natives of Coaldale, Gerald and William Donovan, were the only bidders for the badly-deteriorated building, offering $2,000.The theater itself is in its worst shape ever, being the victim of neglect in regards to general maintenance repairs.
