Attempted break-in, thefts probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on an attempted burglary and theft incidents investigated by troopers at Schuylkill County locations.

The attempted break-in occurred at the residence of Kevin C. Jefferson, 60, of 83 Main St., Mount Carbon. Unknown criminals attempted to gain entry to the home sometime between 11 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 7 a.m. on Aug. 8.Troopers said Nikki Lynn Snyder, 20, of Auburn, reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle while it was parked on a lot at the Fairlane Village Mall, near the Kohl's Store, in Norwegian Township, and removed a Garmin GPS, valued at $200, and an iPhone, valued at $100.The theft occurred sometime between 6:30-7:45 p.m. on Aug. 8.Kodi Robert Pauley, 12, of 2639 Panther Valley Road, North Manheim Township, reported someone removed his black Matte Next mountain bike from the backyard of his residence. The theft occurred sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 8.
