A dream begun six years ago, for a regional community center to serve the area from the heart of Tamaqua, has come true.

Now the final housekeeping detail is to retire the mortgage for nine additional rooms on the second floor.The rooms are providing a venue for much-needed activities and events, so the act of satisfying the mortgage is tantamount to making an investment in the community, Salvation Army officials explained.The fully handicapped-accessible center has quickly become a hub of regional activity.
