Palmerton Borough Council honored two men last week, who risked their own lives to save that of a 12-year-old boy when he received serious electrical burns on a Zinc Corporation of American transmission tower, which he climbed in the late afternoon June 1.

The council passed two resolutions one praising patrolman Randolph Smith, who responded to the emergency call and was first on the scene; the other to Mark Walck, an off-duty paramedic who rushed to the scene from the Third Street ball field, where he was watching his daughter play.
