Two facing DUI counts in McAdoo

McAdoo police are preparing to file charges against two motorists following incidents in the borough this past weekend. Both are suspected of drunken driving and one man will be cited for two separate incidents.

Ryan Nelmes, 22, of 252 E. County Rd., Drums, was stopped Saturday for failing to use a turn signal and because his vehicle's registration lights were not working. He exhibited signs of intoxication and was transported to his home by police. Within 30 minutes Nelmes was allegedly back on the road, this time driving a vehicle with an expired registration and bald tires.On Sunday, at 4:15 a.m., Willis Negron of Lehighton was stopped for failure to stop for a red light. As he continued on the vehicle crossed the double yellow line several times before the officer was able to initiate a traffic stop. Negron exhibited signs of intoxication, as did his passenger. Also in the car were two children, a five-year-old and a 10 month old.
