State police at Frackville reported investigating a two vehicle crash about 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, along SR54 in Ryan Township.

Troopers said Kyle R. Hutta, 27, of Barnesville, was westbound driving a 2002 Audi TT, and approaching a right curve in the road. Hutta fell sleep at the wheel. His vehicle entering the eastbound lane where it struck the front passenger side of a 2005 Cadillac Escalade, driven by Joseph M. McDemus, 66, of Ringtown.After impact the Audi traveled off the road onto the south berm where it struck two PennDOT road signs, then a rock embankment, where it came to rest. After impact the Escalade was driven onto the south berm.Hutta, McDemus, and passengers Michael McDemus, 55, Carol McDemus 66, and Joeh Petrachonis, 68, all of Ringtown, were not injured.Troopers said Hutta was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
