The Marian High School community gathered at Capriotti's Palazzo, Treskow, recently to celebrate the Second Annual Donor Appreciation Dinner.

The event was attended by approximately 100 Marian Catholic supporters, who were told they would always have a special place in the hearts of the Marian community.Principal Sister Bernard Agnes noted that through the generosity of so many members of Marian's extended "family," new windows are being installed in the school during the Summer break.Sister also reported that during a recent retreat in Stone Harbor, she was approached by many nuns who formerly taught at the school. She said they all enjoyed their tenures at the school and felt a piece of their hearts would always be at Marian."It is this family environment," she explained, "that has led to the school's academic excellence record and rising enrollment."Remarks were also offered by Marian Coach Stan Dakosty, who expressed his gratitude to the volunteers who keep the school going, and Susie Gerhard, director of development and alumni, who summed it up by saying, "To the world you may be one person, but to one person, you may be the world."Started in 1954 as an effort to combine the educational efforts of St. Jerome's School in Tamaqua, St. Ann's School in Lansford and St. Mary's School in Coaldale, the present school was built in 1964 to accommodate freshmen through senior classes.Today, Marian continues to offer a rich tradition of Catholic education to students from 53 Catholic parishes in eastern Schuylkill, Luzerne and Carbon Counties, while also welcoming students of all other faiths.
