Schuylkill crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes probed by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways.

A two vehicle crash occurred about 12:38 p.m. on July 23 along SR61 in North Manheim Township. Troopers said John R. Vadyak, 54, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 1999 Subaru Legacy southbound as Zofia Dobrzanska, 82, of Auburn, driving a 2000 Hyundai Accent, entered the road from a store parking lot along the southbound side. The front of the Subaru struck the rear of the Accent, troopers said.No one was injured. Troopers cited Dobrzanska for vehicle entering or crossing a roadway.A one vehicle crash was reported about 6:19 a.m. on July 23 along Hickory Drive, in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Anthony McElvaney, 45, of Saint Clair, was northbound when he became distracted for unknown reasons. His 2012 Ford van left the road on the east berm, traveled about 50 feet before striking a utility pole with the front bumper area.McElvaney sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention. He was cited for careless driving.Troopers investigated a two vehicle crash about 2:45 p.m. on July 24 at Ferebees Road and Dad Burnhams Road, in Washington Townshiop. Troopers said Camille M. McGonigle, 24, of Pottsville, was driving a 2008 Ford Focus westbound Ferebees Road while Helen B. Willis, 46, of Schuylkill Haven, driving a 2006 Ford Escape, was northbound on Dad Burnhams Road.At the intersection McGonigle failed to stop for a posted stop sign and struck Willis' vehicle in the intersection. After impact the Escape continued west through a flower bed along the berm. Upon impact the Focus spun clockwise and came to rest on the road.No one was injured. Troopers cited McGonigle for vehicles approaching or entering a intersection.A incident was reported at 4:52 a.m. on July 25 along SR25 (Main St.), in Hegins Township. Troopers said Albert Davis Jr., 54, of Houston, Tex., was driving a 2007 Kenworth tractor with trailer, westbound when the trailer caught fire. Davis was able to control the fire with a fire extinguisher. Damage were termed heavy to the trailer, which was loaded with 40,000 pounds of potatoes.Another incident with a truck was reported at 4:24 a.m. on July 26 along SR61 in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Anthony W. Foresman, 23, of Ringtown, was driving a 2014 Freightliner Reefer box truck southbound and approaching the intersection with Coal Mountain Road when it struck a crash impact attenuator with its right front tire. The tire deflated and Foresman turned to the right and continued to travel forward before the truck overturned onto its left side where it came to rest.Foresman sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention.Troopers cited Foresman for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
