State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a burglary and the theft of a vehicle in the same incident.

The break-in occurred at the residence of Sallie Deichert, 65, of 947 Oak Grove Rd., Pine Grove Township. Entry was made sometime between July 22-24. Entry was made through a basement door. Once inside the criminals attempted to open a safe using power tools. The criminals then proceeded through the remainder of the house, dumping contents out of drawers as they searched for valuables.Taken was multiple watches, several boxes of shotgun shells, handgun ammunition, rifle ammunition, and firearm related supplies.The criminals then took a 1971 Ford F-100 truck that was parked in the driveway. The truck is owned by James Deichert, 45, of Branchdale. It is red in color with a white hood. The letter "D" is on the tailgate painted in white.
