Three-vehicle crash in Schuylkill

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a three-vehicle crash about 3:51 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, along SR901 (Gordon Nagle Trail) in North Manheim Township.

Troopers said Maria A. Rowlands, 41, Pottsville, was driving a 2010 Mercedes-Benz C300 westbound while Michael Scanlan, 32, Port Carbon, was driving a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 truck eastbound. Also eastbound was Jill O. Svenson, 44, of Auburn, driving a 2003 Nissan Armada SE.Troopers said for unknown reasons Rowlands crossed over the center line and struck Scanlan's vehicle on the left side with the left front. After impact the Ram continued along the south berm and struck several small trees before coming to rest. After impact the Mercedes spun in a southwest direction in the eastbound lane and was struck by the Nissan. After that impact the Nissan traveled southwest along the berm and struck a road sign.Rowlands was injured and flown by Medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Svenson was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson Street, Pottsville. Scanlan and three juvenile passengers, ages 6, 5, and 4, were not injured.Troopers said Rowlands was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
