State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft incident at a Schuylkill County residence.

Troopers said someone cut two battery cables and stole a battery from a riding lawn mower on the property of Robert Carl, 53, of 400 Greenwood Road, in Porter Township. They also made two perpendicular cuts in the operator's seat and stole a two-blade, 42-inch mowing deck that was located adjacent to the mower.The incident occurred sometime between 1 p.m. on July 17 and 3 p.m. on July 18.
