Flees after being stopped by police

McAdoo Police are actively seeking the whereabouts of Fred Scott Williams, 50, of 30 Walnut St., Delano, in connection with an incident that took place at 2:43 a.m. on July 20.

Patrolman William Curilla was on patrol that morning when he observed a blue Chevrolet Impala traveling on South Kennedy Drive.The car's license plate lights weren't operating, so the officer made a vehicle stop. As he approached the Impala, Curilla made eye contact with the white male driver and observed a female in the passenger seat.As the officer reached the car, the driver accelerated and sped away, traveling south at a high rate of speed. A records check indicated the vehicle was owned by Danielle Sippie of Mahanoy City and the registration had been suspended due to insurance cancellation.Several hours later, the vehicle was found by Rush Township Police, parked in a yard on Quakake's Main Street.Sippie was contacted and admitted to being the passenger during the time of the incident. She told police that Williams had been the driver and fled police due to an outstanding warrant for his arrest.Williams faces charges of fleeing a law enforcement officer, driving a vehicle without insurance, careless driving, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, driving without a license, driving with an open container of alcohol and failure to have the required lighting.Anyone with information about Williams is asked to contact the McAdoo Police at (570) 929-2590.
