The fire companies in two communities remind residents that the deadline for signing up to have your chimney cleaned is fast approaching.

Firemen in both Tamaqua and Jim Thorpe have a July 31 deadline for registering your name with the fire company.In Tamaqua, all four fire companies will participate. Names can be submitted to any of the four fire companies American Hose, Citizens, and East End.The cleaning project in Jim Thorpe is being handled by the Fairview Hose Company Chimney Sweeps.
