Medical condition cause of crash

A medical condition may have caused a Schuylkill County driver to crash his vehicle.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred about 7:38 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, along SR209 (Saint Clair/Port Carbon Highway), in East Norwegian Township.Troopers said Zachary M. Zimmerman, 26, of Saint Clair, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet southbound when, for unknown reasons, possibly he had some type of medical conditon and "blacked out," the vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole along the east berm with the passenger side.After impact the car re-entered the southbound lane, flipped over, and came to rest on its roof. Zimmerman was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for evaluation.
