No one was hurt in a mishap that happened at 1:10 a.m. July 19 on Interstate 81 in West Mahanoy Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said Victoria N. Hoops, 23, of Clarksville, Tenn., was driving a 2007 Pontiac G6 southbound and was in the right lane passing over Rt. 61 when she was unable to avoid striking a large piece of metal that was lying in the lane. The metal was identified as a tow cleat that had fallen off a tow truck..Police said both of the right tires on the car were blown out after striking the metal, which also resulted in damages to the wheels.
