Salem St. Paul's

Each August Salem St. Paul's Lutheran Church operates a food stand at the West End Fair in Gilbert. It needs the support of all church members and friends to make this effort a success. The work schedule for this year's fair stand is posted on the community bulletin board. Volunteers must be 13 years and older to work in the stand. If you are able to sign up for more than one shift, that would be great. Volunteers will receive a free fair entry ticket and a free meal for the day they are scheduled to work. There are three shifts daily from Aug. 25-31 with four to six volunteers per shift. The captain on each shift works the stove (heating the filling and barbecue, making gravy, etc.) and supervising as needed. The night shift captain would also close down the stand. A job description is available for captains. On each shift volunteers are needed to serve food and one person serves as cashier. Men are needed on all shifts to help with heavy lifting. For questions regarding the work schedule call Pat Held at (610) 767-5641 or email
