Ohio trucker cited for Schuylkill crash

A Ohio truck driver was cited for fleeing the scene of an accident in Schuylkill County. State police at Frackville said the crash occurred about 2:45 p.m. on Friday, July 12, along Interstate 81 southbound in Kline Township, at a construction area.

Troopers said Wendy L. Rifenberg, 47, of Rome, Bradford County, driving a 2005 Chevorlet Malibu, and Bernard D. Price, 49, of Creston, Ohio, driving a 2012 Peterbilt truck tractor, were both entering a construction zone and merging into the left lane as the right lane was closed.Rifenberg was in front of the truck when it struck her vehicle three times. The third time the impact pushed the Malibu into the grassy median on the left side of the road.Price then fled southbound. He was located by troopers at the intersection of I81 and SR61 and stopped.Rifenberg and four passengers were all not injured. Damages were moderate to the rear end of the Malibu but it was driveable, troopers said. Damages to the truck were minor.Price was charged with misdemeanor count of accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property, and a summary offense of following too closely.
