More support needed for veterans' parades

To the Editor,

In Carbon County we have what's known as the Carbon County Veterans Council. The MAIN purpose is to get things together to make the Veterans Day a success. Each Veterans Organization is asked to send a member or two to the meetings to represent their organizations.Let's face it! This just doesn't happen. If we get four of five, we are lucky. There are about twenty-one in the county. When we march we complain not many come to the parade. Why complain when you don't help in organizing? And I know of some veterans who don't take part and some organizations that don't take part either.Look! We are becoming fewer due to the lack of membership. Older members are dropping and younger veterans don't seem to be interested.Parades are getting shorter in time and distance. More support is needed for Veterans Parades by both viewers and marchers.Let's bring some pride back!A nation who forgets their defenders will itself be forgotten!I Remain,Robert (Ski) SiesputowskiSummit Hill
