A Schuylkill County man is in the county prison in Pottsville following his arrest Tuesday on sexual assault charges.

State police at Schuylkill Haven identified the suspect as James Michael Kervitis, 26, of Seltzer, Norwegian Township. He has been charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, and corruption of minors.According to troopers Kervitis is alleged to have forced a 15-year-old female from Centennial, Colo., to perform sexual acts with him on two different occasions. It is also alleged that Kervitis provided the victim with marijuana.Troopers said the assaults occurred near the Frackville Reservoir in New Castle Township, and at 414 Minersville St., Norwegian Township. The acts occurred at various times between July 20 and Aug. 10, 2011.Kervitis was arragined before District Judge James Reiley, of Pottsville, and committed to the county prison after failing to post bail, troopers said.
