A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Carbon County and taken by ambulance to Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital.

Jim Thorpe police said the accident occurred about 3:40 p.m. on Monday, along the 700 block of North Street (SR903) in Jim Thorpe.Police identified the pedestrian as a 12-year-old male from Jim Thorpe.Officers spoke to the young man's parents who said he sustained a fractured elbow, but was home as of Tuesday.The driver was identified as Joan Deacetis, 80, of Jim Thorpe, driving a 1999 Subaru.Police were unaware of the condition of Deacetis, but said her vehicle did not need to be towed.The incident was ruled accidental and no charges have been filed at this time.
