A Carbon County man was sentenced on Monday in the county court to a long state prison term on two assault counts one for aggravated indecent assault and two count of aggravated harassment of a prisoner.

Lester Allen Reeser Jr., 23, last address in Palmerton, was sentenced to a total of 60 to 132 months in a state correctional institution by Judge Steven R. Serfass.Reeser was sentenced to serve 48 to 108 months on the indecent assault count and 12 to 24 months on the two harassment counts. The harassment counts run concurrent to each other but consecutive to the assault charge. Serfass rejected a request from defense Attorney Joseph V. Sebelin to run the terms concurrently.Reeser previously pleaded guilty to the indecent assault count.He admitted to having sexual intercourse with a then 13-year-old girl. Lehighton police charged him for an incident on Sept. 18, 2012.Yesterday he pleaded to two counts of aggravated harassment of a prisoner with two counts of aggravated assault on a prisoner dropped in a plea bargain.On that count Reeser was arrested for an incident that occurred on March 9 at the county prison in Nesquehoning.Nesquehoning police charged that Reeser filled a bottle with urine and feces and then went to the cell of Sean McFadden and David Archer and sprayed it into the cell through the food trap.Seblin told the court that Reeser agreed to plead in the sexual assault case at the preliminary hearing. He said Reeser did not want to put the victim through a trial. He also claimed that his client was abused as a child. He said that the abuse eventually led to the abuse of drugs by his client.He also said as a result of the abuse Reeser developed mental health issues that exist today. He said, "He regrets what he did."Seblin also said the incident at the jail was part of Reeser's emotional problems.Reeser declined to make a statement when given the opportunity by the court.Serfass said he listened to what Seblin said and what was contained in a presentence investigation (PSI) report prepared by the adult probation office but added, "That does not excuse you of your conduct in this matter."In addition to the jail term Reeser must follow the provisions of Megan's Law and the Adam Walsh Act which means he must register for life as a sexual offender.Additionally, Serfass ordered Reeser to supply a DNA sample, have no contact with the victim in the sexual assault, and get both mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations and follow any recommendations for treatment.He was given credit for 175 days spent in prison to date on the charges.
