ON THIS DATE

It seemed like old times at Lakewood Ballroom recently, when people from the surrounding towns flocked to Lakewood to dance to the strains of music from yesteryear.

The attraction was Jack Morgan, son of the late Russ Morgan, a favorite at many of the dances in the area during the time of the Big Bands, the late 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.The dances at Lakewood were not the disco or hustle type, but rather of the waltz, foxtrot, Charleston, and Varsity Drag or Black Bottom.
