A McAdoo man has been cited following an altercation with his mother.

Police were dispatched to the rear of 34 W. Blaine St. at 11:03 p.m. for a fight in progress. At the scene they found David Gordon, who said he got into an argument with his mother after she tried to give him a hug. Gordon didn't want the hug, noting his mother was intoxicated, smelling of alcohol and his fiance didn't like the smell of alcohol. Gordon pushed his mom away, causing her to stumble and fall to the ground, scraping her elbow and knees.When another man stepped in to defend the woman he and Gordon exchanged a few punches.Gordon was cited for simple assault.
