Some grocery shoppers had a rare sight when they went into the Golden Key in Lehighton this morning. Strolling past them, rather nonchalantly, was a medium-size black bear. It was one of two bears which wandered into town.

The bear which passed the Golden Key was estimated to weigh about 200 pounds. It continued south on Second Street, cut through some yards to Bankway, and proceeded to the Lehigh River before it could draw too much of a crowd.The other, estimated to be about 500 pounds, lumbered mostly through the west end and center of town.
