A Carbon County resident is facing an assault count.

State police at Lehighton said Kathleen A. Kattner, 43, of 901 Princeton Ave., Palmerton, went to the residence of her boyfriend David M. Palka, 5 Deer Park Lane, Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, about 6:55 p.m. on June 19 to get her belongings.Troopers allege that Palka struck and shoved Kattner within the residence. She received several cuts and bruises but refused medical transport.Palka was charged with simple assault and harassment, troopers added.
