Eugene Umphrey of Stroudsburg is facing a bad checks charge that has been filed against him by state police at the Fern Ridge barracks.

Police said the victim is Good Business Services, Effort.Police said Umphrey cashed a check at the business at 5 p.m. March 7, but when the victim attempted to collect the money, it was reported by the bank on which the check was drawn that the money was not available.In a similar report, police said Edwin Cappabianca of Blakeslee was arrested on the same charge, stemming from an incident at 5 p.m. Oct. 26, 2012, at the same business.
