Seven area residents among 26 placed in probation program

Seven area residents were among 26 defendants who were admitted into the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program by Schuylkill County District Attorney Karen Noon Byrnes.

Judge Charles M. Miller imposed conditions they must carry out in order to clear their name of a criminal charge. The program is a one-time offer to first offenders who had been charged with a non-violent crime. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a yeary, unless otherwise noted.Monica Marie Brown, 23, of 14 W. Broad St., Apt. 2, Tamaqua, unauthorized use of a credit card of Brenda Bachert, 515 Arlington St., Tamaqua, assessed $350 to defray the cost of the program, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, perform 10 hours community service, and make restitution of $618.52 to M&T Bank.
