Father's Day made for a fun day during the Tamaqua Historical Society's 23rd Annual Tamaqua Summerfest held in downtown Tamaqua on Sunday.

In addition to more than 90 crafters and food venders, visitors to the family-oriented festival enjoyed traditional activities, in addition to a few new ones this year.Some events and activities during the festival consisted of a band performance by Bwahaha, Tamaqua Volunteers history guessing game, special display from the J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills, arts and crafts activities at the Tamaqua Community Art Center and Tamaqua Street Machine Car Show.In addition, there was the League of Literaries Dunk Tank, Leiby's Belgian draft horse trolley rides, Victorian Highwheelers, Tamaqua Anthracite Model Railroad Club display, roaming performances by the Eclectic Circus and more."It was a great way to spend a day with your dad and family," said Dale Freudenberger, society president.
