State police at Frackville reported investigating a one-vehicle crash about 3:03 p.m. on Friday, June 14, in the area of 214 Pine Swamp Road, in Union Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Elizabeth Rose Pope, 30, of Danville, was driving a 2004 Chevorlet Aveo westbound and lost control while attempting to avoid a groundhog on the road. The car went onto the berm and traveled down a small embankment and into a small creek where the vehicle came to rest.Pope was not injured. She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
