A Monroe County woman is the apparent victim of a scam.

State police at Lehighton said Lucille Elizabeth Gower, 62, of Saylorsburg, Ross Township, reported to them that she received a letter from unknown persons stating she won a prize of $250,000. She sent a money gram for $3,120 to unknown persons overseas to claim her prize. She has never received the prize.The incident occurred between June 8-14, troopers said.
