MCTC provides financial grants to 35 seeking nursing careers

Thirty-five local residents have been honored by Mauch Chunk Trust Company (MCT) as recipients of Anna Marie Helbing Trust scholarship grants towards their pursuit of a nursing degree.

The award recipients, selected by an independent committee, were recognized at a small reception held in their honor at the North Street branch location in Jim Thorpe.The 2013 Anna Marie Helbing Trust award recipients are:Brandy Bamford, Rachel Borger, Alessandra Buzzetta, Marissa Cantelmi, Codey Drum, Kelly Fisher, Kristen Halenar, Shelby Hartman, Kacie Haupt.Courtney Hertzog, Kelly Hormuth, Alyssa Knappenberger, Kristin Lawrence, Debra Lobien, Jessica Lobien, Kaitlyn Matula, Kylee Mullen.Brian Ohl, Jr., Jacqueline Palmieri, Cynthia Paul, Brielle Poeldnurk, Alexandria Quinn, Damian Richards, Lindsey Rolland, Kara Sedlack, Kevin Seemiller, Helen Seidel, Lindsey Seltzer, Lisa Sittler, Kayla Smith, Victoria Smith, Stephanie Stidham, Jennifer Strohl, Amber Woodring, and Lauren Yurick.This is the 22nd consecutive year that Mauch Chunk Trust Company has administered scholarship grants from the generous bequest of Anna Marie Helbing.Helbing was a native of Jim Thorpe and enjoyed a nursing career in New York.According to Mauch Chunk Trust Company Wealth Management Division Manager, Lee Zink, "We are pleased to provide this assistance, enabled by the foresight and generosity of Anna Marie Helbing, to support these students as they pursue a commendable career in nursing."Established in 1902, Mauch Chunk Trust Company is an independent community bank that is locally owned and managed.The community bank operates six branch locations and one trust & investment services office in Carbon and Schuylkill Counties providing a complete range of personal and business banking products and financial services, such as investments and insurance.
