Crashes probed

State police at Lehighton reported on two crashes investigated by troopers.

A two vehicle crash occurred about 3:23 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, at the intersection of Meixell Valley Road at SR115, in Ross Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Barbara A. Osinski, 46, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2004 Subaru Impreza northbound on 115 at a very slow speed in an effort to turn left onto Meixell Valley Road. Gary S. Campbell, 22, of Saylorsburg, driving a 1998 Ford Windstar, was behind Osinski when he fell asleep for a short period of time. After Campbell work up he was directly behind Osinski and swerved to the right to avoid a collision. The left front of the Ford struck the right rear of the Subaru.Osinski was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance. Campbell was not injured. Damages were disabling to both vehicles.Troopers cited Campbell for careless driving.A one vehicle crash was reported at 12:39 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, along SR209 south of Burger Hollow Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Robert Mangan, 31, of Palmerton, was southbound when he became distracted and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle left the road and went down an embankment and crashed into a tree.Mangan was not injured.
