A Tamaqua woman has been cited for allowing her dog to run loose.

Tamaqua Mayor Chris Morrison was walking his dog in the area of Green and Race Streets on May 21, when he observed a black German Shepherd come out of a yard, running loose. The dog then defecated on public property and ran back to its home at 114 Green St.The animal's owner, Kathleen Boyer, 51, was cited for allowing her dog to run at large and for permitting her dog to commit a public nuisance.
