Quilts from those who care

Busy hands and generous hearts made 40 child-size quilts. Those hands and hearts belong to several members of the Western Pocono Women's Club.

They meet five times a year at Pat Mackes' home, bringing their sewing machines, scissors, needles, thread and a commitment to the Quilts for Kids project. Quilts like these from WPWC are given to children in need and to those who need comfort in hospitals. Some of the women who worked on the quilts are, from left, Donna Coleman, Kathy Hargash, Marie Schriever (co-chair), Fern Smith, Linda Bryfogle, Caroline Andrews, Pat Krome, Pat Mackes, Darlene Beers, Margaret Kluk (co-chair) and Elida Gares.
