A Slatington man has been cited for theft of services after he used a "jumper" pipe to obtain water free of charge.

Louis Yurasits, 67, of 207 Union Street, was cited on May 8 after he used a "jumper" pipe to disable his water meter while still obtaining water free of charge, as his water consumption cannot be measured when water does not flow through the meter.Yurasits was fined $300, which, with the costs added on, raised the amount of his citation to $447.50. He plead guilty on May 22, and paid the citation in full.
